A former WWE superstar created history at the ROH Final Battle 2025 event. She laid claim to becoming the first titleholder of a new championship introduced for the promotion.The aforementioned star in question is Deonna Purrazzo. The ROH Final Battle 2025 pay-per-view featured an explosive singles bout between Deonna Purrazzo and Billie Starkz. This was the finals of the Pure Wrestling Rules tournament to crown the inaugural ROH Women's Pure Champion. Interestingly, top AEW star Jon Moxley was on commentary to call the action. The bout began as an evenly matched contest between the two rising stars of professional wrestling and evolved into a captivating top-in-ring showdown.Following a few moments into the bout, the action spilled outside the ring as both women used their surroundings to inflict major damage on each other. At one point, Purrazzo had the chance to win by count-out, but she chose to break the count and continued the beatdown on Starkz. Both competitors came back inside the ring and exchanged hard-hitting moves and submission holds as they attempted to gain the victory in the high-stakes match. Purrazzo and Starkz continued to have near fall after near fall, and the match continued to pick up momentum; however, the former TNA Knockouts World Champion had three rope breaks by that point.The final moments of the showdown saw Purrazzo lock Starkz in the Venus Di Milo submission hold and strike her head with her knee. Athena's protege was not able to take much and finally had to surrender to The Virtuosa by tapping out. This led to Purrazzo having her hand held high and being crowned the first-ever ROH Women's Pure Champion.As she was leaving through the entrance ramp, injured AEW star Queen Aminata, who was ruled out of the tournament, came out to confront the new champion. The commentators announced that she told Purrazzo that she wanted next on a title opportunity before leaving and letting her have her moment.
