AEW has just announced that a major star on the roster is currently hospitalized and under observation. They revealed that a further update on their condition will come this weekend.Darby Allin has been in a series of brutal matches over the past few months. He has been in a Coffin match and an "I Quit" match, and was even part of Blood and Guts last month. As if these weren't enough, he competed in a brutal contest against PAC at Full Gear almost two weeks ago and a high-physicality contest against Kevin Knight last week.It seems all of this may have compounded, as AEW commentary revealed tonight that Darby Allin was in the hospital as a precaution. The three-time AEW champion has not been cleared for in-ring competition due to being under observation. Allin has also not been able to travel. Excalibur mentioned that there may be an update from Collision this Saturday. The former TNT Champion is currently entered into the AEW Continental Classic as part of the Gold League. It remains to be seen whether his tournament slot will be in jeopardy due to his current physical condition. He has only competed in one match so far, which was his loss to Kevin Knight. He still has to face off against Kazuchika Okada, PAC, Kyle Fletcher, and 'Speedball' Mike Bailey.Last year, Juice Robinson was injured during the tournament, forcing Tony Khan to enlist Komander as his replacement. However, Robinson was dealing with a more serious injury. In Allin's case, if this is only a short-term situation, the promotion could decide to postpone his matches in the meantime. The tournament is heating up, with no shortage of competition every week. There have already been some major upsets and bouts that can be considered as show stealers in just the opening week.
