A former AEW World Champion recently opened up about whether he had followed John Cena's Farewell Tour. The Cenation Leander will wrestle in his final match this Saturday against Gunther. Saturday Night Main Event 42 will truly be the end of an era as the Greatest of All Time walks away from the ring.

Bryan Danielson, one of the former rivals of the 17-time WWE World Champion, has already semi-retired from in-ring competition. The beloved AEW star is currently part of the commentary team on weekly Dynamite episodes.

While speaking on Undisputed, The American Dragon claimed he didn't watch John Cena's Farewell Tour closely because he was experimenting with trying to use less media.

“I honestly haven’t watched, I’m entering this experimental phase of my life where I’m experiencing less input from media. When I went to visit my mother recently, I made a 13-hour drive. I didn’t listen to any music, I didn’t listen to any podcasts. There was nothing but silence. The only times there wasn’t silence was when my wife called, I got on an AEW call, or when I called mom," Danielson said. [H/T - WrestlePurist's X/Twitter account]

John Cena was praised for his match against Bryan Danielson

The Cenation Leader has been paying tributes to different stars throughout his Farewell Tour. Not only that, he has been mentioning and thanking everyone who helped him grow.

While speaking on RAW Recap, John Cena claimed he received praise for his matches against CM Punk, Adam Copeland (fka Edge), and the former Daniel Bryan (aka Bryan Danielson).

I got put with opponents who were supposed to be bad guys, but they loved them. [CM] Punk, giving Bryan Danielson a shot. Uhh, Edge [I heard that then as well]... Fast forward to the United States Open Challenge. 'Hey, man, you're having some of the best matches of your career right now.' And then for you to be able to say that now means a lot," Cena said.

It remains to be seen what goes down in John Cena's final in-ring showdown against The Ring General at SNME 42 on December 13.
