AEW had no plans to erase Cody Rhodes from its history - Reports

Despite no longer being with the company, AEW has not forgotten to include Cody Rhodes when talking about their history. It has just been reported that he has been heavily referenced in the company's new book.

It was announced earlier this year that This Book is All Elite: The Inside Story of All Elite Wrestling is set to be officially published this coming November 4th. This is set to speak about the 6-year history of the company and the people and moments that have made it what it is. Many wondered whether stars who have left the promotion, such as Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, would be included.

Fightful Select has obtained a copy of the book and reported on its content. Rhodes is mentioned to be covered no less than 15 times throughout the book, including his feuds, his importance to the TNT Championship, and his iconic moments on several AEW pay-per-views. Punk is also mentioned no less than half a dozen times, but his controversial incidents were not referenced.

It was also mentioned in the report how AEW had no plans of omitting anyone from the book. There was also a part where Excalibur brushed on the topic of how the promotion had to figure out its identity following Rhodes' departure.

Both Cody Rhodes and CM Punk were briefly shown during AEW Dynamite's 6th Anniversary show

Last month, AEW held its 6th Anniversary show for Dynamite, which featured several blockbuster matches, and there were moments where the promotion looked back at its long history.

During a moment in the show, the Jacksonville-based promotion played a 2-minute video looking back at the iconic moments of the Wednesday show. There came two brief moments where they showed both Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, despite them no longer being with the company.

It cannot be denied that Cody Rhodes and CM Punk are two of the biggest stars in WWE. It is interesting to see that despite this, their legacies in AEW have not been forgotten or tossed aside.
