AEW has just paid tribute to legendary wrestling announcer Bob Caudle after he passed away at 95 a few days ago. It was Tony Schiavone who led this, as he briefly spoke about his impact on the industry.

His son Mike was the one to break the news to the media, which has since been shared with the rest of the wrestling world. Caudle was known for his work in legendary promotions such as NWA, Jim Crockett Promotions, and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling.

Moments ago on AEW Dynamite, the company paid tribute to the wrestling icon, with Tony Schiavone leading this. He mentioned how he had gotten to work with Bob Caudle in 1985, and talked about having the honor of getting to stand beside him. He claimed that if there should be a Hall of Fame for announcers, he should be the first name on the ballot.

Caudle has long retired from wrestling, but made a brief return in 2022 to do his part in announcing for Ric Flair's retirement match. They played a pre-recording of his, as he opened and closed the show with his iconic catchphrases.

The Nature Boy has also spoken about finding out about Bob Caudle's passing and has sent a heartfelt message to his family. He spoke about how Caudle had played a big part in developing his interviewing skills.

Other legendary announcers, such as AEW veteran Jim Ross, have also reacted to the news and spoken about how great an announcer he was.

The entire wrestling world is currently mourning the loss of Bob Caudle. His contributions to the early days of wrestling and the legacy he has left for the great announcers who have followed him will forever be etched in history.
