Here are three post-Blood and Guts predictions for AEW.

#3. Buddy Matthews will return

AEW star Buddy Matthews joined the Jacksonville-based company in 2022. The 37-year-old is a former WWE star. In the Stamford-based company, he held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship once, the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship once, and the NXT Tag Team Championship once. He is also a former AEW World Trios Champion. Unfortunately, he has been out of action since Grand Slam Australia 2025.

At Grand Slam Australia, Matthews unsuccessfully challenged Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship. During this showdown, he injured his ankle. The Australian native has been recovering slowly but steadily. He has been out of action for many months, but it looks like he will be back very soon. When he returns, Tony Khan must book him in main event feuds. He is an immensely talented wrestler, and he certainly deserves a singles title reign.

#2. AEW World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page will get dethroned

"Hangman" Adam Page successfully defended his AEW World Title against Powerhouse Hobbs in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Blood and Guts. The Anxious Millennial Cowboy became world champion by dethroning Jon Moxley at All In: Texas. His reign has been extraordinary so far. However, it might be time for him to lose the title.

Hangman Page is scheduled to defend his championship against Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage match at Full Gear 2025. This match's result might shock fans worldwide, as Tony Khan may decide to make The Samoan Submission Machine a two-time AEW World Champion.

#1. Claudio Castagnoli will become The Death Riders' new leader

Ad

Jon Moxley's leadership has made The Death Riders a force to be reckoned with. However, the former Dean Ambrose has taken many losses in recent months. He lost the world title, got defeated by Darby Allin, and tapped out in the Blood and Guts match.

Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, Pac, and Daniel Garcia might have begun to doubt their leader. There is a strong possibility that, in the coming weeks, they will kick Moxley out and make former WWE United States Champion Castagnoli their new leader. This will also lead to the former Lunatic Fringe's face turn.
