During the ROH Final Battle media call, Khan said that Aminata is still dealing with her neck issues. The AEW President added that the company has been giving her as much time as possible to be prepared for a comeback. But for now, she is unclear. Hence, she had to forfeit her spot in the tournament, which gave Deonna Purrazzo a direct entry into the finals against Billie Starkz.

“Unfortunately, and it’s unexpected because we thought she would be cleared by now, Queen Aminata is still dealing with the aftereffects of that injury. Queen Aminata was not cleared and she will have to forfeit. ," he said. [H/T - Fightful]

#4. Mercedes Mone makes her ROH debut

Mercedes Mone made her ROH debut this week. The CEO is scheduled to face Red Velvet for the ROH Women's World Television Championship at Final Battle. However, before that big match-up, Mone faced Lovely Miss Larkan in a historic match to gain some momentum ahead of her big pay-per-view showdown.

The AEW TBS Champion defeated Larkan in less than a minute to make a massive impact on her debut. Mone has had an illustrious career in the world of pro wrestling, but ROH was one of the few promotions she had never competed in. With that win, the 33-year-old is more confident than ever for her match with Velvet at Final Battle.

#3. AEW's future potentially in doubt

AEW shows stream on HBO Max, a platform owned by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). However, according to Deadline, Netflix has officially acquired WBD, which could lead to trouble for All Elite Wrestling. Netflix has international rights to stream WWE programming. WWE is the direct competitor of All Elite Wrestling. Therefore, AEW might be severely affected by this deal.

People are under the impression that AEW might get cancelled due to this deal. However, it should still be taken with a pinch of salt. Reports add that it is unlikely that TNT Sports will move to Netflix. TNT Sports is expected to form a new standalone linear television company instead, which could help Tony Khan and AEW. With that said, only time will tell what the future of the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Danielson added that before his return, he was at home watching shows and making sporadic appearances. However, since he joined the commentary full-time, he has to be actively travelling all over the United States. The former AEW World Champion said initially he thought it would not be a big deal, but now he finds it tiring.

“It’s been interesting because I wasn’t anticipating being a commentator. So I was at home, and then they asked me to come in because Taz was getting shoulder surgery, and to come and help out a little bit. But traveling has been difficult for me. That’s one of the things I didn’t expect, because I’ve traveled my entire adult life. It’s no big deal," said Bryan. [H/T: chrisvanvliet.com]
