Andrade admits to punching Sammy Guevara backstageAndrade has confirmed long-rumored details about a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara that took place in 2022. The incident stemmed from a few heated exchanges on social media. According to El Idolo, who was speaking on El Ring, AEW management placed both men in a group chat and asked them to avoid escalating the situation publicly.“I ran into him alone in the bathroom. I said, ‘Do you have a problem with me?’ He told me, ‘No, everything’s fine. On Tuesday, the company put us in a group chat and asked us not to make anything public. They told us, ‘Please don’t escalate this. We’ve had too many problems lately. I was already upset... And when I saw him backstage, I went up and boom — right to the head. Yes, we fought. Yes, punches were thrown. But no one really saw what happened, just a few people: Rush, José (my assistant), and someone from Private Party. Only they know what really happened." [H/T RSN]Following the brief scuffle, Mark Henry reportedly intervened and urged Andrade not to make the situation worse. The former NXT Champion said that Henry told him not to do anything dumb and advised him to let the situation subside. El Idolo was ultimately suspended for his involvement in the altercation. #3. Ortiz returns to AEW on Dynamite: Winter is ComingOrtiz made his long-awaited return to AEW after nearly two years away from the ring. The former Inner Circle member appeared in a dark match before AEW’s Winter is Coming event, marking his first in-ring action since January 20, 2024. His absence followed a torn pectoral muscle suffered earlier in the year, which kept him out of competition. In his last match before injury, Ortiz teamed with Eddie Kingston against Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli. His return bout saw him compete in a singles match against Hook, which he lost. The match was not televised, and it remains to be seen if this return signals a renewed presence for him on Dynamite and/or Collision.#2. Bad Bunny spotted ringside at CMLL eventGlobal music star and WWE celebrity performer Bad Bunny made headlines after being spotted sitting ringside at a CMLL event in Mexico. Benito made his wrestling debut at WrestleMania 37 and last appeared in the Stamford-based promotion at Backlash 2023. The megastar appeared to be keeping a low profile during the show, wearing a mask resembling that of CMLL star Mistico.Due to CMLL’s ongoing partnership with AEW, Bad Bunny's appearance in the Mexico promotion is noteworthy, as he is someone who has been strongly associated with WWE. That said, no interactions between him and AEW or CMLL talent have been publicly reported.#1. The American Dragon, who was on commentary, remained at ringside as Kingston addressed him following the loss.Danielson, who stepped away from full-time in-ring action after AEW WrestleDream 2024, praised Kingston’s effort in the match.
