All this and more as we dive into the top news from the All Elite Wrestling universe today. Let's get underway.

#4. AEW releases video that includes appearances from CM Punk and Cody Rhodes

AEW dropped a major reference involving CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. Both former stars were highlighted in a recently uploaded video titled “SHOCKING Debuts in AEW!” on YouTube. The video included the debut of CM Punk in Chicago. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes' debut itself was not showcased, but the American Nightmare appeared multiple times throughout the compilation.

Rhodes was one of the founding members of the Jacksonville-based promotion before departing the company in early 2022, and subsequently returned to WWE to pursue the WWE Championship. The Second City Saint was fired from AEW in 2023 after the All In backstage altercation with Jack Perry, ending a controversial run with the promotion.

#3. Mercedes Mone wins APAC Women's Championship, her 13th title in pro wrestling

Mercedes Mone has added yet another championship to her growing collection, capturing her 13th career title this Saturday. The CEO competed at HOG x The Big Event SuperClash, where she defeated Nor "Phoenix" Diana to win the APAC Women’s Championship.

Her achievement follows a historic month in which she broke Ultimo Dragon’s long-standing record for most titles held simultaneously. At WrestleDream 2025, Mone defeated Mina Shirakawa to win the Interim ROH Women’s World Television Title, securing her eleventh belt and surpassing the legendary benchmark of 10 set by Dragon. She immediately built on that success by defeating Jody Threat in Winnipeg to win the WPW Women’s Championship, raising her count to twelve. The erstwhile Sasha Banks is now scheduled to challenge Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear 2025 next weekend.

Goldberg was photographed with AEW legend Sting at The Big Event Entertainment X Sports Expo in New York this weekend. The sighting comes months after Goldberg retired from WWE earlier this year. #1. Jon Moxley abruptly leaves Collision after "You Tapped Out" chants from crowd

A shocking moment occurred on the latest episode of Collision, where Jon Moxley abruptly left his commentary position midway. The One True King had filled in for Matt Menard, who had been attacked earlier in the night by The Death Riders. The former AEW world champion initially settled into the commentary role, providing insight on the show’s matches.

The situation changed when the promotion aired comments from Kyle O'Reilly. In the video, the Violent Artist discussed their rivalry and questioned whether the Purveyor of Violence could overcome him in another encounter, referring to their Blood and Guts last Wednesday, where Moxley tapped out to O’Reilly’s ankle lock, costing his team the victory. On Collision, Moxley dismissed O’Reilly’s claims and insisted the result could not be reproduced.

"Hey, Kyle O'Reilly and the Conglomeration had the night of their lives on Wednesday night at Blood and Guts. But let's be clear, Kyle O'Reilly, you are nothing like me, you are not built like me, your team is not built like my team, and don't you forget it. Oh, you want a match, you want one match, good for you. Can you do it again, and again, and again, and again. I don't think you can, and I don't need to bet a million dollars to prove that you can't do it again," said Moxley on Collision

However, the crowd soon began chanting “You tapped out!”, prompting a visibly annoyed Moxley to remove his headset and storm out of the arena. It will be interesting to see what comes in the next chapter of the feud between Reilly's Conglomeration and Moxley's Death Riders.
