3 reasons why Jon Moxley is currently the biggest weak link of Death Riders in AEW

When Jon Moxley formed the Death Riders last year, the group looked dominant in the ring. They decimated their opponents and wreaked havoc on the entire company. Their goal was simple - to transform AEW to the company it was meant to be - even if they have to do it by force. However, times have changed since then. The Death Riders are on a massive downfall as of late and the person who was supposed to lead them might actually be the one holding them back. Here are three reasons why Jon Moxley is currently, the biggest weak link of the Death Riders.

#3. Jon Moxley has surrendered to top stars

It's quite evident that the last few months have not gone as planned for Jon Moxley. He lost his World Title to Hangman Page at All In: Texas despite having the Death Riders in his corner to help him. Despite this, Mox lost in the most embarrassing way possible by tapping out to Hangman Page.

Mox had the chance to redeem himself when he faced Darby Allin in a I Quit match. Both men delivered a brutal spectacle. However, it was the Purveyor of Violence who uttered the words "I Quit". If that wasn't enough, Mox led his team into the brutal Blood & Guts match this week only to be the one to tap out and cost the Death Riders the win.

It looks like Moxley's soul and spirit has been broken recently and it is not difficult to see that he is now the weak link in his group.

#2. Jon Moxley has showed poor performance as leader of the Death Riders

Jon Moxley is supposed to be the undisputed leader of the Death Riders. As leader of the group, he has led his team into three major multi-man matches this year: Anarchy in the Arena, Lights Out Steel Cage match, and Blood & Guts.

However, Mox's team has ended up on the losing side of these matches every time. Additonally, it was Mox who tapped out at Blood & Guts and handed victory to his opponents. Therefore, it is time that the Death Riders realize that Moxley is no longer the right man to lead the group and they start looking for a new leader.

#1. Jon Moxley is holding back the Death Riders

Jon Moxley is supposed to lead the Death Riders into a new era in AEW. However, he has been the one holding the group back. When the Purveyor of Violence was the World Champion, his entire faction were solely focused on helping him retain his title rather than focusing on their own paths.

Unlike The Don Callis Family where individual members are finding success in the promotion, the same can't be said about the Death Riders. Stars like Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta should be pursuing singles gold in AEW or ROH. Instead, they are busy trying to help Mox out of difficult situations. Marina Shafir should be terrorizing the women's divison instead of being Mox's lackey.

Therefore, the only way for the group to move forward from here is to replace Moxley as their leader.
