The Death Riders suffered a major setback last month at AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts, where they were defeated by the alliance of Darby Allin, Roderick Strong, and The Conglomeration. After losing the bout for his team by submitting to Kyle O'Reilly, Jon Moxley looked to redeem himself at Full Gear 2025 by taking on The Violent Artist in a No Holds Barred match, but was shockingly forced to tap out at the PPV once again. In the aftermath of Full Gear, the Death Riders entered the 2025 Continental Classic in a bid to make up for their recent losses. Although Pac, Mox, and Claudio Castagnoli all began their respective tournament campaigns successfully, The One True King lost to his own general, The Swiss Cyborg, in a brutal Blue League matchup this week on AEW Dynamite. The outcome added to the speculations surrounding the long-anticipated ejection of Moxley from the violent group. It appears that the implosion of the Death Riders could merely be a matter of time. Let us look at three of the clearest signs that suggest this could be the case.#1. Bryan Danielson teased a new pecking order among the Death Riders on AEW DynamiteThe December 3 episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite was main evented by the battle of the Death Riders, as Jon Moxley took on Claudio Castagnoli in a Continental Classic block matchup. The Purveyor of Violence, who had not faced The King of Swing one-on-one since 2017, walked into the bout eager to bounce back to winning ways. Despite fighting tooth and nail, however, Mox ultimately fell to Claudio's vicious uppercut.During the match, commentary had made note of Moxley holding more victories over Castagnoli from their prior singles encounters. Bryan Danielson, in particular, discussed how, when he was a member of The Blackpool Combat Club along with Mox and Claudio, he was never able to defeat the erstwhile Dean Ambrose under the AEW banner, which supposedly led to the former Lunatic Fringe being regarded as the faction's leader.Drainmaker @DrainBamagerLINKBryan Danielson on commentary last night:"When we were in the Blackpool Combat Club together, I was never able to defeat Jon Moxley. That's why we saw him as the leader. Claudio Castagnoli just defeated Jon Moxley.”Very interesting comment. The American Dragon's observation implied that since Castagnoli had now defeated Moxley in singles action, the latter could soon lay claim to the mantle of the new "King" of the Death Riders.#2. The Death Riders could be splitting into opposing campsDespite the outcome of the main event of this week's AEW Dynamite, the Death Riders appeared to be on the same page, as both Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli seemingly made peace with the result of their bout backstage. However, the two stars not only made separate entrances on the show, but they were also both accompanied by different sets of stable-mates – whereas Mox arrived, as usual, with Marina Shafir, Claudio was escorted till the arena steps by the remaining members of the group, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, and Pac.Fans have since remarked on how Yuta, DG, and Pac were all seen leaving together with Castagnoli after his victory over Moxley, while Shafir stayed behind with the former AEW World Champion. Online conjecture is seemingly anticipating cracks forming within the ranks of the Death Riders, with Wheeler and Marina being expected by some to side with Mox, with Garcia and Pac aligning with Claudio, in case the faction does splinter.#3. AEW could be teasing a face turn for the Death Riders as a swerveSome weeks ago, ahead of Dynamite: Blood and Guts, Don Callis approached the Death Riders backstage, requesting them to soften up Mark Briscoe in the violent steel cage matchup to set the advantage in Kyle Fletcher's favor for his Full Gear title match against The Sussex County Chicken. Jon Moxley's group refused to make any explicit deals with The Invisible Hand, however, emphasizing that they were only concerned with dismantling their opponents in Greensboro, NC.Afterwards, Mox was asked by AEW announcers for his thoughts on the Callis Family, and he responded by contrasting his own stable with the mega heel faction. Even after his loss to Claudio Castagnoli this week, the "Ace" of All Elite Wrestling alluded to Callis and his clients and how their motivations differ from those of his team. This has led to speculations of a potential feud between The Don Callis Family and the Death Riders being in the making right now.Jon Moxley rejecting Don Callis' offer [Source: @AEW on X]While viewers will no doubt be intrigued by Moxley's crew turning face against Callis and his goons, he being betrayed by Claudio and company would likely serve as the more resonant and satisfying payoff to their long-running storyline. As such, AEW could pull off a huge swerve by booking the Death Riders to stand apparently unified against the Callis Family, only to ultimately turn on and kick Mox out anyway.
